Christopher Washington
“I’m here because someone believed in me, because they took a chance. Don’t judge future performance by past mistakes.”
Christopher Washington has three words for any incarcerated individuals preparing for reintegration: Preparation, Belief and Action. That means using your incarceration time wisely, believing in yourself, and taking advantage of opportunities. Christopher has accomplished all three, thanks to his own second chance as a member of the ViaPath team.
While participating in the transitional Georgetown Pivot Program, Christopher took advantage of a panel discussion and secured an internship with ViaPath. He then turned that internship into a career, and today is helping millions of incarcerated individuals receive free education, better resources, and to connect with their loved ones. He’s experienced first-hand the life-changing benefits that can happen when a potential employer looks beyond the past to give an individual solid footing for their future.
